Our fond colleague Doddahullur Rukkoji is sure to get national award for his ‘Samagra Charitre’ but getting ‘Guinness Record’ for such a mammoth study and coming out with ‘Dr Rajakumar Samagra Charitre’ that focus on 160 years – previous generations of ‘Annavru’. Let us first wish such a magnificent work and hope for Guinness World Record for the book.


A veteran journalist from cinema Doddahullur Rukkoji two volume book is releasing on 29th of October at Kuvempu Kalakshetra. Prior to formal release of ‘Dr Rajakumar Samagra Charitre’ media meet was addressed by Doddahullur Rukkoji, BN Subramanya, DC Nagesh, Green House Vasu and Dr Swamy.


We give you highlights of the book:

 

·        This type of book on a film personality is not found in the country and worldwide.

·        It is 15 years effort. Rukkoji was not interested in coming up with 120 pages research paper on Dr Rajakumar. For increased idea he had first support from Dr Siddalingaiah.

·        It is a thorough PHD work on Dr Rajakumar.

·        Initially it was thought of five lakhs of rupees and 5 years as limit.

·        It has crossed more than 90 lakhs as investment today. It has three dimensions as one goes through the book.

·        142 personalities have been interviewed out of which 27 are not living today.

·        It is done with pure affection. It has 2148 pages, 20000 photos collected, 14000 photos have been scanned and 8700 photos used for two volumes. Three computers were pressed in to action. There is a feel of satisfaction.

·        It is priced at Rs.7500. Two volumes weight nearly 11 kilograms. For fifty copies of two volumes a special bag is made at a cost of Rs.250.

·        2000 copies of this book is first print. It requires 3 lorries to bring the book from Sivakashi where it is printed.

·        For getting back the investment of nearly Rs.1 crore 1800 copies have to be marketed.

·        Rukkoji has not taken even a single rupee from anyone. Friends have given him interest free loan to come out with ‘Dr Rajakumar Samagra Charitre’.

·        There will be documentary on making of Dr Rajakumar Samagra Charitre.

·        To avoid any injury to the two volume books the metal cover plate is planned.
